Who:	Anyone who wants to do some Sport Touring

Crockett National Forest and the Angelina Forest are situated in the pine covered hills of East Texas. We have over 200 miles of roads mapped around the area which you can see as either a 350K JPG or a 75K GIF. ( Map courtesy DeLorme Map n' Go 2.0)

We will meet Friday night in Lufkin, Texas at the Ramada Inn, located at 2011 South First St, intersection of Hwy 59 South and the 'Loop.' The rate is $46 for 2 beds or one king (single or double). Phone is 409-639-1122. Rooms held until 12 SEP. Identify yourself as being with the ST Owners Club to get the rate. (Regular is $70!)

There is a camp ground inside the forest (Crockett), near the small town of Ratcliff. The park has approximately 20 sites situated around a picturesque lake in the middle of the forest. The camp is about 10 miles from Lufkin.

So what exactly are we going to do? I expect Friday night there be lots of stories (lies) about riding experiences, top speeds, avoided tickets, etc. For Saturday, we have figured out about 211 miles of roads around Crockett, Angelina, over Lake Sam Rayburn and the Neches river. No particular time table or strict routing (like some of those other rallies you hear about) is in place. No special tee shirts or pins will be available; no seminars on rear splines or wheel bearings and hopefully no one will even mention which tires to buy for their ST!

Suggestions for where to stop for lunch or dinner are welcome. Anyone wanting to plan a night / evening ride is welcome to. Basically, this is so all of us can go ride for a couple of days in the shade after a damned hot Texas summer! See you there.
